Explore the Components of a Loving MarriageJust as we require air to breathe and water to survive, we all have deep emotional needs that must be fulfilled. Really good, deeply satisfying relationships are rare because they require a significant amount of knowledge about one's self, information about the other person, and good communication skills. These things are generally not taught today. A workshop based on the book, "Intimate Encounters," by Dr. David and Teresa Ferguson, is offered at Suntree United Methodist Church periodically throughout the year and is based on these key ingredients. Co-Senior Pastors John and Terri Hill are the facilitators, who offer a unique perspective to the class. They have been married for over 25 years and ordained ministers most of those years. The course is designed to help people understand themselves and their spouse or fiance better. It is open to couples thinking of getting married, those who have okay marriages, and those who have marriages in trouble. The skills learned in the workshop are definitely transferable to other relationships. The workshop is held on a Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $50 per couple. This includes a continental breakfast, workbooks, lunch, snacks, and childcare. Pre-registration is required. Check the calendar of events for the next scheduled workshop. |
