Fun N' the Sun

We are well into 2010 and with that comes the annual youth fund raising auction, Fun N' the Sun. This year's theme is Collegiate Sports Craze. This is a chance for our youth program to raise funds for missions trips and camps and all that to help ease the costs of those trips. Help us by bring in auction items or by just coming to the event. All the information can be found here!

Fun N' the Sun

This year's Fun n' the Sun event is scheduled for March 12th and 13th with our live auction and dinner on Friday and 5k run and family fun day on Saturday morning. Our theme for the year is Collegiate Sports Craze where we show our true school spirit colors either with your Alma Mater or just the school that you love! We have tickets available for sale that can be purchased at the Church front desk or between services on Sunday mornings. Our 5k run on Saturday morning is a chance for our Students to raise money for missions trips that include Pharr, Texas and Maldin, Jamaica. It's also to raise money for our summer youth camp through Student Life. The registration form for that is below. There's also a ton of options to get involved with either decorating a table, creating a tailgate spot or volunteering for helping to set up or tear down.

We all take time to stop, rest, listen and pray to learn how we can best serve Christ. This is true for a ministry, a small group and a congregation. Engaging teens and keeping them engaged is what the Youth Ministry is all about. It’s a time to be relational, inspired, relevant, and of course, fun!

IMPAKT Service “Where Conversation Matters”

Every Sunday we have about 125 teens and 25 adults at the IMPAKT youth service in the LOFT. The set up is casual – it has coffee tables, end tables, couches, stadium-style seating, lamps and candles. The room is full of crosses, Bibles and a large image of Jesus painted by the teens. It comes complete with an altar where kids can pray and a stage area for the Youth Praise Band.

Families are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the café-style atmosphere before activities begin. It all starts with the coffee house at 8:45 a.m. where everyone is challenged with a question to discuss while enjoying fellowship over coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice and donuts. Then, at 9:15 a.m., the gathering comes together for an interactive discussion with Pastor Joel Lusz. There is a mix of music, drama, personal stories, prayer, scripture and a message.

Sunday mornings are key to finding out what’s going for the rest of the week. In addition to announcements, the Sunday morning handout provides information about EDGE and LOFT and explains how to sign up for upcoming events.

Ministry Teams

All of our youth are encouraged to become members of service/mission-oriented teams called Ministry Teams. They help the youth program and our surrounding community.

Monday Night LOFT

Fun! Food! Games!!! and lots of discussion on some really hot topics that face teens is what’s happening at Monday Night LOFT. LOFT is for High School students every Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It’s very social with an important twist – LOFT is discipleship oriented and relevant to a high school student’s life experiences as a Christian.

Wednesday Night EDGE

This program is for Middle School students. It’s a wild, wacky time with food, friends, laughter, games and lots and lots of multimedia. Because it is much easier to get involved when friends come too, EDGE is set up with that in mind. It’s an outreach experience where teens come to have fun. EDGE is every Wednesday night during the school year from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the LOFT.

Trips/Camps/Retreats

We believe in taking kids to places and events that are life changing. Mission trips, weekend retreats, and youth camp are all designed with spiritual growth and renewal in mind. In the summer we switch gears and offer lots of activities like beach Bible studies, trips to Orlando water parks, dinner & a movie and much, much more! Check out the church calendar for events.
