Blue Sky Community garden is located on the grounds of Suntree United Methodist Church. Produce from the garden will be shared with volunteers, local soup kitchens, and the community. Our goal is to improve the church’s sustainability and reduce environmental impact, as well as promote healthy eating, create habitats for our wilder neighbors (bees, butterflies, birds and critters), and provide gardening opportunities for all. The garden is currently under construction and moving quickly! We are putting in a well, fence and drip irrigation. The soil is being tilled and improving in order to get our first crops planted. For more information on how to join or support this ministry please contact Augie Allen,
Harbor City Book Buddies – Beginning this school year, Suntree United Methodist Church is officially partnered with Harbor City Elementary school in Melbourne.  With this partnership, we will support the teachers, students and families of this school with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Our congregation has already donated nearly 2,000 books for the students to take home so they can further develop their reading skills.   Now we look forward to serving the wonderful children of this school with our time. Harbor City teachers are looking for volunteers to serve 30 minutes per week or month having the students read to them. The school needs a regular commitment of time:  Assigning a student to a specific volunteer allows them to develop a routine and a relationship.

A few important details:

•Volunteers will need to pick a day of      the week (Monday – Friday), the age range
(1st–3rd or 4th–6th grades) and a time        (8am-11am or 12-2pm).

•Church Volunteers also can work with Kindergarten classes and there are opportunities to read to whole classes rather than one-on-one time.

•A background check will need to be completed and can be found at
(Anyone who has done the process for another school and has a badge is cleared to also serve at Harbor City)
•We will start Sept. 6.
